Lance Franklin earned a reprieve at the tribunal during the week and TAB punters have thrown their weight behind him having a good match against Essendon, the team he has kicked more goals against than any other side.
The Swans star was out to $4.50 in the market on whether he would kick the remaining 17 goals he needs for 1000 career goals this season after he was suspended for a week, but he was back into $2.60 after winning his appeal.
One punter stepped into the Swans before Franklin’s appeal, placing $8400 on them at $1.42 to defeat the Bombers. The Swans came into $1.35 after he was cleared to play and are now $1.37.
Franklin is $1.75 to kick at least three goals against the Bombers, $2.75 to kick four or more and $5 to kick five-plus. Those who think he can kick six goals can get $11.
TAB this week took a bet of $370 on Franklin at $26 to win the Coleman Medal for a collect of $9620. Franklin, who is on 39 goals for the season, trails $1.50 favourite Harry McKay by 13 goals with four rounds to play.
In other games, Collingwood have tightened from $2.60 to $2.20 against West Coast ($1.48 to $1.65), but the Eagles were the subject of one of the biggest bets of the week – $10,000 on them head-to-head against the Magpies at $1.62.
