A TAB punter is confident that Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe will claim the 2019 Brownlow Medal having placed a $10,000 wager at $7 just after midday AEST for a potential collect of $70,000.
The 2015 Brownlow medallist opened $7 minutes after Hawthorn Tom’s Mitchell received the AFL’s highest individual honour last season, touched $9 after Round 4 and was $3.25 favourite before Round 22.
Despite the $10,000 bet on Fyfe, the Fremantle superstar is only the third-most popular player with TAB punters today as he has received 17 percent of money wagered since 7am AEST.
Geelong’s Patrick Dangerfield – $2.50 favourite at TAB – has garnered 21 percent of the support today including one bet of $5,000 at $2.50.
TAB favourites have won the last four Brownlow Medals starting with Nat Fyfe in 2015 ($2) followed by Dangerfield ($1.16 in 2016), Dustin Martin ($1.05 in 2017) and Tom Mitchell ($1.45 in 2018).
The Brisbane Lions’ Lachie Neale has obtained 18 percent of today’s money on the 2019 Brownlow Medal winner.
Another TAB customer has placed $2,000 at $15 on Collingwood’s Brodie Grundy for a potential $30,000 payday.
