The Lions look to be surging into September with stellar form, four on the trot, with another winnable game at home against the Crows.

Adelaide showed why they can compete against the top teams, taking down the Giants at home with some free-flowing and energetic football.

It does feel as though part of that has come down to a lack of results, where now they have the freedom in their games to try some new things out.

The last time these two played at the Gabba, the Lions just got up by a point, and even more recently, these two played out a thrilling draw at the Adelaide Oval.

Brisbane’s midfield has continued to build a deadly approach on offense, and they’re finding ways to dictate the flow of the contest with their workrate.

They’ve averaged 32 scoring shots per game over the last four games, which is almost unbeatable.

The Crows will have to produce a mighty effort defensively, but on the offensive end, the Lions have struggled to shut down smaller forwards, so a big day out for Izak Rankine could certainly spark something.

Brisbane’s return to form at home should be too strong, and if the Crows let the Lions midfielders have such dominance with possession as they did with the Giants midfielders, the Lions won’t be so nice about it.
