Another big crowd is expected at the Gabba on Saturday night for one of the most anticipated Q-Clash’s in recent history.

It was slow going in the first half last week for the Lions, but a six-goal bag from Joe Daniher saw Brisbane home by a comfortable margin against the Bombers.

Likewise, the Suns came good with a massive 70-point romping over West Coast in Perth, Stuart Dew’s side enjoying a handy eight-day break in between starts.

The Suns really gave Brisbane a run for its money when they met last July, playing a competitive brand of footy in the first three quarters but ultimately falling away in the end.

It’s become an all-too-common trend through Gold Coast’s tenure under Dew, but on the plus side, it’s hard to say the Suns have played a bad game of footy over the last month.

Three wins over West Coast, Richmond, and North Melbourne aren’t anything to write home about, but a close five-point loss to the Dees a fortnight ago was encouraging for a young side loaded with talent.

Brisbane, on the other hand, remains almost unbeatable at the Gabba, while down back, the Lions have held their last three opponents to under 80 points.

Statistically, this should be a fun game between two of the top three clearance sides in the competition, and if the Suns can make the most of their opportunities and push the ball inside 50, they should at least be competitive.

That said, like all good sides, Brisbane knows when to flick the switch when it matters most, so it won’t be surprising if the Lions put their foot down late to cover.
