Charlie free, Ed banned at AFL appeal

The AFL Appeals Board has found Carlton’s Ed Curnow guilty of making intentional contact with an umpire, overturning the tribunal’s decision of careless contact.

He will miss Sunday’s match against Melbourne after being sentenced to a one-week ban in an extraordinary hearing at AFL House.

His brother Charlie is free to play, with the board throwing out an appeal to change his fine for careless – rather than intentional – contact with an official.
