A rematch of the Grand Final couldn’t have come at a more crucial time for these two clubs.

The Pies are basically no chance at making finals after going down by three-points to the Swans last week, but you can bet they’d like nothing more than to thwart one of their biggest rivals’ chances at securing a home final come September.

The Lions were their own worst enemy last week against GWS, seemingly missing unmissable goals in front of the sticks and committing some silly skill errors during the third quarter.

Defensively, Brisbane needs to come up with an answer to help Harris Andrews, while they also need to maintain pressure around the stoppages after falling behind to the Giants late in the game.

The Lions at the ‘G is always a risky proposition, but they have performed well in Melbourne recently, not to mention the fact this is also a chance to get the monkey off their back after losing the Grand Final on this ground in heartbreaking fashion.

Typically reliable after suffering a loss, I’m willing to bank on last week’s defeat actually being a good thing in the long run for Brisbane.
