Two low-profile deals have been processed to end three straight days without player movement during the AFL trade period.

Out-of-favour Gold Coast forward Peter Wright became the first player to switch clubs since Adelaide’s Kyle Hartigan was traded to Hawthorn on Friday.

Wright, a former No.8 draft pick, is off to Essendon for a future fourth-round selection after playing 66 games for the Suns since 2015.

The 203cm giant failed to make a senior appearance this season despite having two years left on his contract with Gold Coast.

Melbourne’s Mitch Hannan has also found a new home with the forward heading to the Western Bulldogs in exchange for a future third-round pick.

The 26-year-old kicked 55 goals in 50 games for the Demons after debuting in 2016.
