Docker Hogan sheepish after flipping car

New Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir says Jesse Hogan was feeling a tad “sheepish” after flipping his car, but the star forward has since bounced back on the training track.

Hogan was taken to hospital on Sunday after his car clipped a stationary vehicle and flipped on its side.

The 24-year-old was released a few hours later, and completed training on Monday despite being given the day off.

Longmuir described the crash as innocuous.

“He had a few cuts and grazes but he seemed in really good spirits,” Longmuir told Draft Night Countdown on Wednesday.

“He was a little bit sheepish about flipping his car, but from a body point of view he was fine and jumped straight back into work on Monday morning.”

Hogan is still working his way back to full fitness after undergoing surgery on the navicular bone in his right foot in July.

Longmuir says Hogan has been progressing well from that surgery.

“Last week he was pumping out 7kms on the training track run-wise and goalkicking and starting to build his kicking loads,” Longmuir said.

“Hopefully it (the car crash) is just a minor blip on the radar and hopefully he can keep progressing really well.”
