Superstar Lance Franklin will miss the second International Rules Test against Ireland to attend the wedding of former Hawthorn teammate Brent Guerra.
Franklin headlines the 21-strong all-indigenous squad named on Tuesday to contest Tests against Ireland in Cavan on October 19 and Dublin on October 26.
But the key forward – whose lucrative nine-year deal to join Sydney was cleared by the AFL on Tuesday – will only be available for the opening match.
Coach Michael O’Loughlin confirmed on Tuesday that Franklin would return home after game one for the wedding of Guerra, who retired after playing alongside him in Hawthorn’s 2013 premiership triumph.
Ireland won the most recent series 2-0 in Australia in 2011.
Australia will be represented by an all-indigenous team for the first time with Franklin, North Melbourne star Daniel Wells, Brisbane’s Ash McGrath and Geelong’s Steven Motlop among the major drawcards.
Australian squad: Tony Armstrong, Dominic Barry, Eddie Betts, Alwyn Davey, Aaron Davey, Shaun Edwards, Cameron Ellis-Yolmen, Lance Franklin, Jarrod Harbrow, Joshua Hill, Leroy Jetta, Lewis Jetta, Nathan Lovett-Murray, Ash McGrath, Steven Motlop, Jake Neade, Mathew Stokes, Lindsay Thomas, Sharrod Wellingham, Daniel Wells, Chris Yarran.
