A month ago, the Cats looked lost, with some experts even going as far as writing them off as a finals chance.

On the back of four convincing wins over Hawthorn, West Coast, Sydney, and Essendon, however, suddenly the Cats are right back in the thick of the Premiership conversation.

Another win at home could see the Cats edge closer to the top four this week, but they’ll have their hands full against a Crows outfit hungry to improve on a heartbreaking one-point loss to Collingwood.

With wins over Port Adelaide and Carlton, Adelaide continues to hang with genuine finals contenders this season, but over the last two weeks, there has to be a few areas of concern Matthew Nicks is eager to address.

The Crows were the benefactors of Hawthorn’s sloppy game management two weeks ago in Launceston, a game they really should have lost, while last week, Adelaide led Collingwood by four goals midway through the second term but failed to seal the deal.

Winning the clearances and being overwhelmed when momentum swings the other way have been big problems for Adelaide this year, a potential recipe for disaster in a tough away environment like Geelong.

On one hand, you could argue the Cats haven’t beaten much during this recent winning streak, but the way they’ve been moving the ball and finding wide-open targets inside 50 has been outstanding.

Geelong has shown they can still be scored on, giving up 100+ points to Essendon last week.

This potent Adelaide forward line will test the Cats, but given their struggles late in games recently, it’s tough to back a Crows upset.
