GWS star Toby Greene has been referred directly to the AFL tribunal after being was charged with serious misconduct against Marcus Bontempelli in the fiery elimination-final win over the Western Bulldogs.
Match review officer (MRO) Michael Christian sent Greene straight to a tribunal hearing on Tuesday evening for an incident that occurred during Saturday’s first quarter at Giants Stadium.
No details of the offence were given in the initial MRO findings, but Greene was involved in several blow-ups during the spiteful encounter which the Giants won by 58 points.
