Gold Coast new boys expect Adelaide cheer

St Kilda’s Marvel Stadium is set to become “little Adelaide” on Sunday, when the family and friends of Gold Coast debutants Jack Lukosius and Chris Burgess pour in to cheer on the duo.

Mature-age recruit Burgess’ mum has booked a mini-bus to drive 10 family members from Adelaide, while grandparents and friends are taking to the skies to get to the game.

Number-two draft pick Lukosius is also from South Australia and expecting plenty of support from the stands against the Saints.

“I’ve got a big crew coming,” the 18-year-old said. “A lot of my family there, my girlfriend – all my friends are piling up in a car and they’ll be heading over as well early Sunday morning.”

Fellow South Australians Jordan Murdoch, Jack Hombsch and George Horlin-Smith may also bring a crowd across the border as they make their first appearance for the Suns.
