Preview:
HAVING won two of its first three games to start the year, GWS has lost three straight to the Western Bulldogs, Adelaide and Gold Coast by an average of 44 points. Yet the Giants are undoubtedly more competitive this season, with Heath Shaw, Callan Ward, Adam Treloar and Stephen Coniglio impressing against the Suns. Next up they face a Port Adelaide side that sits atop the AFL ladder after six rounds following its drought-breaking win over Geelong on Sunday. Skipper Travis Boak, Brad Ebert and Kane Cornes are all in form and will provide a stern test for the young GWS line-up.

3. In the three clashes between the sides, Jeremy Cameron has kicked the most goals with eight.
4. Port is yet to win a match in Canberra, losing to North Melbourne three times between 1998-2005. GWS’ first victory in the AFL came in Canberra, against Gold Coast in 2012.
5. Port is the third highest-scoring team in 2014, kicking an average of 112 points per game. The Giants are seventh with 86 points per match.
6. The Power don’t have a player in the top 10 of the AFL’s Official Player Ratings, but that could soon change. Boak has rocketed up to 13th after his side’s strong start to the season.
