Brisbane should brace themselves for a toughened-up Richmond this weekend after Tigers coach Damien Hardwick ordered a full-throttle response to their dire AFL loss to St Kilda.

Hardwick, who has never lost to the Lions as Tigers coach, said he was considering bringing in Anthony Miles and Nick Vlaustin for Sunday’s match to provide a harder edge, while ordering a “mouthguards in” approach to training.

“(Mouthguards in) was the exact quote we used … most sides pride themselves on that part of the game and we were incredibly disappointed with what we put out,” Hardwick said on Friday.
