The Hawks were reminded they’re still on the rebuild in 2024, going down to the Cats by 51 points last week, but another opportunity presents this week to show they’re still capable of taking it up to the best.

Freo is finding some good form, comfortably taking care of the Tigers, but this is a danger game the Dockers simply must win.

Stoppage dominance is Freo’s superpower in the competition this year, leading the league in stoppage clearances, often giving themselves first hands on the footy.

The Hawks are still undefeated in Tasmania this year and have a great understanding of how to play the ground and grind out tough wins.

Uncontested and controlled footy has seen them win both games at UTAS by five and six points respectively, and the uncontested approach is also where the Dockers will look to break down the Hawks.

Contested areas will separate the two sides, and it’s one of the most balanced matchups in that respect.

Fremantle’s defensive lockdowns have been super impressive over the past few weeks, and even with Hawthorn’s offensive flair they possess, they should be able to keep Hawthorn below a score of 70.

This should be one of the best games of the round, and an upset is certainly well on the table, but the Dockers should continue on with their strong form.
