AFL grand final hero Dom Sheed has extended his contract with the West Coast Eagles, admitting it was an easy decision.
The 23-year-old midfielder, whose kick from the boundary with minutes to play sealed victory over Collingwood in the 2018 decider, has re-signed until the end of 2021.
“Obviously I have signed on for another two years and it was a very easy decision, coming off a successful year for the footy club in 2018,” Sheed told the club’s website.
“It was an easy decision but it’s good to hang around for another couple of years.”
Sheed, who was drafted by West Coast with pick 11 at the 2013 National Draft, said he was looking forward to an extended spell with the premiers.
“Not much has changed but getting out of bed to go to training is always a bit easier coming off a flag,” he added.
“I have been here for the past five years, so it would be nice to hang around for another five and potentially be a one-club player.”
