Adelaide have put the collective blinkers on, ignoring Richmond’s injury crisis ahead of Thursday night’s AFL match.
The Tigers journey to Adelaide with captain Trent Cotchin and stalwart Shane Edwards the latest added to their lengthy injury list.
Both Cotchin and Edwards will miss the Adelaide Oval encounter because of hamstring issues.
They’re additions to a Richmond injury list now featuring 17 players but Adelaide veteran Richard Douglas says their opponents’ troubles are irrelevant to his club.
“For us, (it) probably doesn’t change too much,” Douglas said.
“But for them to lose their captain is a big loss and Trent’s a fantastic player.
“We know Richmond really well.
“Obviously they’re not in as good a form as they would have liked but they’ll be super keen to bounce back this week and get their season back on track.”
Adelaide have kept the same 22 players who downed GWS last weekend while the Tigers have made three changes.
Cotchin, Edwards and the omitted Jacob Townsend have been replaced by premiership duo Nathan Broad and Brandon Ellis plus winger Connor Menadue.
The Crows have just two players unavailable – Tom Lynch (calf) and Tom Doedee (knee reconstruction).
“We like to pick a side that is well-balanced with players who are in good form,” Douglas said.
“The squeeze is certainly on for selection at the moment and … you have to pick your best players at the time for balance.”
