Luke Shuey crowned Eagles best and fairest

Elliot Yeo’s bid for a third straight best and fairest award at West Coast fell just short after he was edged out by teammate Luke Shuey on Friday night.

Shuey tallied 258 votes to claim his second John Worsfold medal, finishing ahead of Yeo (239) and Brad Sheppard (234).

Andrew Gaff, Jack Darling, Jeremy McGovern, and Liam Ryan rounded out the top seven.

Skipper Shannon Hurn finished ninth despite producing yet another standout season that earned him a second straight All-Australian jumper.

Shuey averaged a career-high 27 disposals and 5.3 clearances per game this season, but missed out on All-Australian honours.

Yeo earned his second All-Australian jersey for a season that saw him average 23.7 disposals and 6.3 clearances.

Oscar Allen was named the club’s best emerging talent, while Shuey and Andrew Gaff shared the award for player of the finals.
