Round 16 was such a crushing defeat for the Demons, who fell five points short of a great on the road victory against the Lions.
They now find themselves in a position foreign to them for the last few years, outside the top-eight, fighting for a spot in September action.
This is four points they should bank quite comfortably, and it gives them a good opportunity to test their forward structure out against an Eagles side who have fallen back into a bad pit of form.
They only scored four goals against the Hawks last weekend, which certainly wont hold up against the Dees on the road.
The biggest question is their lack of intensity and consistent pressure, smashed around the contest all day, with a lack of efficiency in key areas.
The ball went inside 50 without pressure too easily, and the Eagles conceded 22 marks inside 50, which is where the Dees will look to punish them also.
Its the Eagles first trip to the MCG this year, and its the first time these two sides have faced off at the MCG since 2014.
The Dees simply have too much to lose, with the opportunity to fix some very important things up.
