Western Bulldogs veteran Dale Morris is a chance to make a fairytale AFL return in Sunday’s clash with St Kilda at Marvel Stadium.
Morris has been named on the Bulldogs’ extended bench for the crunch game, and will find out on Friday whether he has made the final cut.
The 36-year-old’s career looked over when he suffered a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee at training in March.
Morris decided against surgery, and made a successful return in the VFL last month.
Now he has the chance to play his first game at AFL level since round 23 last season.
But he might find it tough to force his way into a team that have won three games on the trot.
Toby McLean (hamstring) is the only confirmed omission from the team that beat Melbourne by eight points last week.
Rhylee West, Tom Liberatore, Bailey Dale, and Caleb Daniel were all inclusions in the extended 26-man squad, which will be trimmed by four on Friday.
St Kilda have rested Ben Long, and added Doulton Langlands, Matthew Parker, Bailey Rice, Darragh Joyce, and Sam Rowe to their extended squad.
