The sleeves might be out for a chilly afternoon in Tassie on Sunday between two sides looking to build on respective six-point losses last week.

North gave the Bombers all they could handle for four quarters, winning the centre clearances and contested possession with a combined six goals from Nick Larkey and Cameron Zurhaar at the same time.

The Giants also gave it their all against the Tigers, Toby Greene again featuring heavily on the goal sheet with Tom Green racking up 35 touches.

This is a tough game to pick on the back of last week, but the Roos could be at a serious disadvantage through the middle with Jy Simpkin and Hugh Greenwood set to sit through the concussion protocol.

GWS’ midfield is far from elite, but they have been one of the top five best teams in the disposal and handball counts this season.

Home-field advantage in Hobart is huge for North, but it’s worth noting the Giants have gone 4-1 at the line as the away favourite against the Roos.

The Giants prevailed by 49 points when they met at Marvel last year, although it is tough to forget their famous 94-94 draw at Blundstone back in 2021.

Despite North’s heroics last week, GWS has been playing some solid footy over the last month, beating Geelong two weeks ago after giving the Saints a real run for their money in Round 10.

If that form holds, the Giants should score a well-deserved win here for Adam Kingsley.
