A month is a long time in footy, and no one knows that better than Swans coach John Longmire.

Four straight losses has left last year’s Grand Final runner-ups sitting 14th on the ladder, and the pressure cooker is only getting warmer with danger signs popping up everywhere.

A lack of run through the midfield, some key injuries, and no real No. 1 forward target outside the struggling Buddy Franklin has given fans little to cheer about through the first nine rounds.

Fortunately, a game against the struggling Roos might be just what the doctor ordered, but as Longmire will likely be stressing, this is far from a ‘gimme’ game on the road at Marvel.

To be fair, North has struggled to score more than 65 points over its last four games, but as we saw against the likes of Richmond last year, the Shinboners can surprise teams at home on any given day.

This is no doubt a massive game in the grand scheme of Sydney’s season, but it’s hard to back them to cover such a monstrous line with Callum Mills and Logan McDonald now on the injury list.

Likewise, North’s chances have been hampered by Luke Davies-Uniacke’s hamstring problem, a key loss for a club that has struggled to move the ball through the middle of the ground.

This is a firm danger game with too many variables, and with plenty of star power not on the paddock, the over might be the safest play.
