The Power are set up for a lacklustre season yet again, and whilst we know theyll probably finish in the eight with their talent, theyre not a contender, proven once again last week.
Theyre taking on a Lions side who looks to have found some form again, and with two on the trot, theyll be looking to make it three at the Oval.
Port Adelaides record at home against top sides is extremely poor, but the main part of that stat typically relates to primetime performances, which in this case, its not.
The Power will roll out their 20th-anniversary kit in celebration of the 2004 premiership, and theyll sure need to play like that to compete well and give themselves a good shot.
The Lions looked back to their best against the Saints, punishing with their run and gun, and their stoppage dominance that has been crucial in getting them repeat inside 50 entries.
Its a dominance that needs to be translated to beat the Powers one weakness of poor defensive accountability.
Port Adelaide only managed to kick six goals against the Giants, and its fair to say theyll need a better output from their small forwards to trouble the Lions defensively.
Both sides can generate speed through the middle, and the Power can get on top with a little more control and poise with their execution moving the footy up the ground.
The size of the ground works in favour of the Power, and naturally, they should be able to spread the ground and make the Lions fatigue quicker with the wider dimensions.
Port has lost direction in their season, and with the Lions back on track, this game could further add to the Powers list of woes.
