Round 12 starts off with a cracker, with top-four hopes for both sides making this a proper eight-point game.
Both sides are coming off identical five-day breaks from their Saturday afternoon wins last week, and the Power will certainly feel more confident taking on the short turnaround at home.
It wasnt until Round 4 this year that the Blues were finally able to notch up their first win at Adelaide Oval, so theyve at least overcome some form of hoodoo ahead of this clash.
The midfield battle looms large, and its a stark contrast in contested v uncontested at the centre stoppages, which at the Oval typically suits the uncontested Power side.
Carlton was on top of their battle against the Suns for a majority of the game, but lacked a killer punch in the middle of the game, although it did come at the end.
If the Power are to take hold of this game, they need to do it early, with a few recent games causing them issues with slow starts.
Neither side is ultra-accountable in defensive transition, although the Blues have been more conservative with their approach in recent weeks compared to the Power.
The difference in this game may be as simple as small forward output, which is something the Blues have lacked compared to the Power throughout the year.
When the Power lower their eyes inside 50 they are hard to stop, and if the Blues insist on finding Charlie and Harry on most entries, their success rate wont match the Power.
On home turf, and against a side that regularly struggles at the Oval, its a non-negotiable for the Power, but their record in big-time games is poor, so anything could happen.
