A change of scenery and club culture, rather than a better shot at winning an AFL flag, was behind Brett Deledio’s decision to leave Richmond, the Greater Western Sydney recruit says.
The star midfielder, who left the Tigers after 12 seasons in the recent trade period, said he hadn’t given up hope of winning a premiership with his former club.
“I think it was just time for me to have a fresh start … and just see whether I could better myself and make myself more rounded,” Deledio, 29, told reporters on Wednesday.
