After defeating the Brisbane Lions by 40 points in their preliminary final, Geelong are $2.10 outsiders at TAB to defeat Richmond ($1.80) in the 2020 AFL grand final at the Gabba on Saturday night.
Just as the Tigers did last night, the Cats recovered from a qualifying final loss to record wins in their semi-final and grand final qualifier.
The Cats were $12 at the start of this season to win this year’s flag and $15 was still on offer before Round 10 and one TAB punter is hoping their patience pays off after they placed a $5000 wager at $15 on June 11 for a potential $75,000 collect.
Another TAB customer is celebrating Geelong’s victory after they wagered $4000 at $3.25 on August 19 that the Cats would play in this season’s premiership decider.
The Cats were well backed from an opening price of $2.15 to account for the Lions and one TAB punter plonked $50,000 at $2.05 this afternoon on the Cats to win this evening.
