There’s plenty of footy left to play out, but this suddenly shapes as a do-or-die clash for the Tigers with the season quickly slipping away.

Nobody predicted Richmond to be sitting 16th at 1-4 by this point, and while you could argue they’ve been the victim of a tough draw, the Tigers have been their own worst enemies in more ways than one.

Inaccuracy in front of goal and the inability to play a consistent four quarters continues to haunt the Tigers, as we saw last week in a late collapse against Melbourne.

Ironically, the Suns have been plagued by the same issues. Gold Coast picked up an ugly win over North last week at home, but overall, Stuart Dew’s side still ranks poorly in points, inside 50s, and disposals per game.

As has been the case for what feels like their entire history, the Suns have also suffered another injury setback with their best player, Touk Miller, set for a stint on the sideline after suffering a knee injury.

To make matters worse, Gold Coast’s forward line remains as inconsistent as ever with Ben King struggling to hold form – only adding to the warm coaching seat Dew currently occupies.

Interestingly, these two clubs both rebound the ball quite well, so this does have all the makings for a feisty, back-and-forth game.

On form, the Tigers appear more battle-tested with games against Melbourne, Sydney, and Collingwood in recent weeks, but I wouldn’t discount a high-scoring, tight game.
