Richmond Tigers vs Port Adelaide Preview
An 0-2 start is hardly what Adam Yze envisioned when he installed a camel on top of the locker room at Punt Rd a few weeks before the season began.
Richmonds new tourist attraction has since been removed, but it didnt help matters last week in what turned out to be a cracking Thursday night contest against Carlton.
After having their doors blown off the week before against the Suns, the Tigers responded in a big way in an honurable five-point loss a game that saw the re-emergence of Dusty Martin and a much better defensive effort from start to finish.
The Power had a much easier hit-out to begin the year against wooden spoon favourites West Coast at home.
Port ran out comfortable 50-point winners in the end, largely thanks to the boot of Charlie Dixon and the work from key midfielders Connor Rozee and Zak Butters.
Ken Hinkleys side has held the wood over the Tiges with three wins from their last five meetings, the last being a 31-point drubbing in Adelaide.
As far as this one goes, you can build an argument for Richmond if they get on top in the clearances early, but I still worry about their inability to get the ball inside 50.
Richmond has been smashed when it comes to forward half entries in both games so far, and although theres plenty of scoring talent in front of the ball, Im just not sure they have enough to match Port in this area.
