Hawthorn key forward Jarryd Roughead has officially accepted a reprimand for rough conduct, freeing him up to play in Saturday’s AFL grand final against Fremantle.
Roughead was never going to risk challenging the charge at the tribunal as a guilty finding would have carried with it a one-match suspension.
By taking the early guilty plea for the off-the-ball bump on Geelong’s Cam Guthrie, Roughead had 93.75 carryover points added to his future record.
The reigning Coleman medallist was the only player reported from the two preliminary finals.
The bump on Guthrie was rated as high contact and of low impact by the match review panel.
Had it been categorised as having medium impact, Roughead would have faced a ban.
