Saints re-sign AFL veteran Adam Schneider

St Kilda have re-signed 200-game veteran Adam Schneider on a one-year deal for the 2014 AFL season.

Schneider played only five matches in an injury-interrupted 2013.

The 29-year-old has kicked 242 goals. His tally of five grand-final appearances includes Sydney’s premiership win in 2005 and St Kilda’s draw against Collingwood in 2010.

St Kilda are determined to boost their defence and have expressed an interest in North Melbourne’s Luke Delaney, while the Kangaroos are keen on the Saints’ triple All-Australian midfielder Nick Dal Santo.

Greater Western Sydney’s Josh Bruce is also reportedly on the Saints’ shopping list.

St Kilda have pick No.3 in the national draft, their first top-five pick since 2002.
