Fremantle fans have reason to cheer after star trio Luke McPharlin, Chris Mayne and Michael Johnson were able to hit the training track on Thursday.
All three missed the club’s open training session on Tuesday, but they joined the rest of the squad on Thursday as the Dockers’ were put through their paces at Fremantle Oval.
Only the warm-up part of the session was open to the media, so it’s unclear how much work Mayne, Johnson and McPharlin were able to complete once training went behind closed doors.
Mayne suffered back spasms before last week’s win over Sydney, while Johnson and McPharlin have only recently returned from calf injuries and appeared somewhat hampered against the Swans.
Football operations manager Chris Bond declared all three would be fit to take on Hawthorn in Saturday’s grand final at the MCG.
The Dockers fly to Melbourne on Thursday afternoon, and are expected to name an unchanged line-up for the premiership decider.
Hawthorn will start the match as slight favourites after losing just three times this season.
Fremantle have never played off in a grand final, but Bond said the player group hadn’t been fazed by the intensity the week has brought so far.
