St Kilda Saints vs Western Bulldogs Preview

Eleventh and 12th meet on Thursday night in a game that could be entertaining for all the wrong reasons.

St Kilda would be top of the table if teams were earning points for honourable losses, Ross Lyon’s side suffering a heartbreaking one-point loss to GWS last week after kicking the final six goals of the game.

The Dogs coughed up another hairball in their 29-point loss to the battered and bruised Bombers, ruing missed opportunities in front of goal and struggling to match Essendon around the stoppages.

Making matters worse, Luke Beveridge’s side will be without key midfielder Tom Liberatore this week despite being cleared of a concussion – a key loss against a Saints outfit that sets up extremely well behind the ball.

Scoring efficiency will prove in this clash with both sides proving incapable of kicking high scores.

Confidence-wise, this might be the toughest game of the round to pick, but if the Saints can avoid another slow start and build on last week’s comeback, they do look the better bet against a Dogs team that seems to be heading in the wrong direction.
