It’s a good old fashioned suburban battle on the cards as the Saints host the Doggies this Friday night at Moorabbin.
When the two last met, the Western Bulldogs, a foundation club of the competition, taught the Saints a football lesson in their AFLW debut with a ruthless 25-point win at the same ground in Round 1 of last season.
St Kilda had a solid debut season last year, with 2 wins and 4 losses with plenty of ups and downs.
There was much hype around the new G-train, Caitlin Greiser – who took out the AFLW goalkicking last year and coach Peta Searle has developed an exciting young list. The Saints will be a team to watch out for.
The Western Bulldogs win over the Saints in Round 1 of last year would be their only win.
They will want to improve after a disappointing 2020, but there is still some star power – such as 2020’s Rising Star winning Izzy Huntington and the list has remained steady.
It’s a toss of a coin as in who to pick in this one, but when in doubt, you simply can’t go past the Saints at home.
