Swans sign delisted Gray and Brand in AFL

Sydney have signed former Port Adelaide forward Sam Gray and ex-Hawthorn defender Kaiden Brand as AFL delisted free agents.

Gray joins former Brisbane player Lewis Taylor – after his signing with the Swans in the trade period – in bolstering Sydney’s small-forward options for 2020, while Brand is a key defender.

“We’re excited about adding Sam and Kaiden to our squad and look forward to them continuing their careers at Sydney,” head of football Charlie Gardiner said.

“Sam and Kaiden have both shown an ability to perform at AFL level and we think they will both be great additions to our team.”

Gray played 96 games for Port Adelaide after originally joining the Power as a rookie in 2013, kicking 83 goals.

That included 20 goals in 20 games in 2019, while he also booted 28 goals in 2017 and 21 in 2018.

Brand played 43 games from 2016-19 for the Hawks, after he was picked up in the 2012 draft.

He played just five AFL games in 2019.
