Sydney Swans vs Geelong Cats Preview
The second Grand Final rematch of the season awaits on Friday night, and if it turns out anything like April’s 93-point blowout, it could be one big fizzer.
The Cats are coming off a potentially season-defining win last week against the Dees – a huge result considering Jeremy Cameron was concussed early in the first term.
A win would be enough to vault the reigning premiers back inside the eight, but they’ll be banking on another goal haul from the in-form Gary Rohan with Cameron set for a stint on the sideline.
On the plus side, Esava Ratugolea is due to return down back – a big inclusion with Sydney’s blonde bombshells Luke Parker and Issac Heeney wreaking havoc in last week’s 171-point demolition over West Coast.
Overall, the Swans have been underwhelming since losing the Grand Final, but with a big percentage booster in hand, there have been plenty of positives for John Longmire to focus on.
Looking back, the Cats and Swans have been two of the more inaccurate sides in front of goal recently, but it’s worth noting the pair still rank top five in points scored.
Tom McCartin’s long-awaited return could close the gap down back for the Swans, but with this game anyone’s best guess, the Over might be the best play.
