The Swans will be looking to put last week’s horror show behind them with a big win over their little brother on Saturday.

A repeat of last year’s Grand Final played out against the Cats last week, a result that had to trigger the trauma of Swans fans around the country. John Longmire’s half-strength back line suffered from the get-go, surrendering six goals in the opening term on their way to another horrendous defeat.

It was a tough pill to swallow for a club that just put Richmond to the sword a week earlier, but there’s no reason to panic with a chance to bounce back against the out of form Giants.

Likewise, GWS was smashed off the park early against the Lions last week, fighting back in the second term but ultimately conceding an onslaught of goals in the second half.

The Giants have lost four of their last five games and like their inter-state rivals, have also suffered an injury cloud with Sam Taylor and Adam Kennedy both set for a stint on the sideline.

There’s still no word on the status of the McCartin brothers, but with Sydney’s midfield still in good shape and Buddy Franklin a chance at returning, the Swans should be able to add to their outstanding 6-2 record on the back of a loss over the last 12 months.
