Preview:

AN ALMIGHTY battle looms on Saturday between the two hottest teams in the competition. Port Adelaide has been nothing short of sensational, with its only blip being a round three loss to North Melbourne, sitting two wins clear atop the ladder and enjoying an eight-game winning streak. But the Power will have their hands full against a Swans outfit riding a seven-game victory run of its own that has taken it from a 1-3 start to the season all the way up to third place. The outcome will have a major say in where things stand at the very top of the competition.

THE SIX POINTS
1. Port’s impressive victory over a Swans side defending its premiership last year snapped an eight-game losing streak against the Sydney club dating back to 2006.

2. Chad Wingard starred that day at AAMI Stadium, producing 20 possessions and three goals to claim the three Brownlow votes.

3. Port Adelaide will try to overturn a poor record at the SCG, where it has prevailed just three times in 12 attempts. Its last win in Sydney came in round two, 2006, the day the Swans raised their 2005 flag.

4. The Swans will be hopeful of setting a new SCG record crowd for a game against Port this week. The current mark is the 33,551 who attended that flag raising game in 2006.

5. Port is the AFL leader for inside-50s, averaging 56.8 per game. The Swans aren’t far behind, ranked equal second with 56.4 per contest.

6. Josh Kennedy and Kieren Jack are in a titanic battle to be the leading Swan in the Official AFL Player Ratings. Kennedy’s performance against Gold Coast took him up to No.8 overall, one spot ahead of his co-captain.
