The TAB pays out on 2021 AFL Top 8 bets

TAB has paid out on AFL Top 8 bets for the teams who currently occupy positions in the eight.

Those who backed Melbourne, the Western Bulldogs, Geelong, Brisbane, Port Adelaide, Sydney, West Coast and Richmond prior to midday on June 17 have already had their bets settled.

The Swans, at $1.40, was the longest price of the teams inside the 8 at the time of the payout with Essendon ($2.75) and GWS ($3) considered the teams most likely to unseat any of the Top 8 incumbents.

GWS is $1.62 to bank another four points against Hawthorn ($2.25) this weekend, despite that game shifting to Melbourne, while Essendon is the $3.70 outsider against Melbourne ($1.26).

The round starts tonight with a mouth-watering clash in Brisbane and the Lions retain a strong grip on favouritism, tightening slightly from $1.70 to $1.68 during the week, with Geelong at $2.15.
