Star Collingwood midfielder Dale Thomas will leave the AFL club and join fierce rivals Carlton under free agency, according to a media report.
There has been plenty of speculation about the move, which would reunite Thomas with his old coach Mick Malthouse.
The Age reports that Thomas will join the Blues on a four-year deal.
Thomas is a restricted free agent, meaning Collingwood can try to match Carlton’s offer, but this is considered unlikely.
He is the second-biggest name among this year’s free agents behind Hawthorn star Lance Franklin, who has confirmed a controversial bid to join Sydney.
