Jarrad Waite will make his AFL return after being named in Carlton’s final 22 to play Adelaide.
Waite hasn’t played since round six but has been recalled by Mick Malthouse for the Blues’ Sunday twilight clash.
The big forward has been troubled by a back injury earned in their come from behind win over the Eagles and was close to a recall before the bye.
Waite has five games and eight goals to his name this season, having earlier been sent to the VFL by Mick Malthouse to find form.
He replaces the suspended Mitch Robinson.
Andrew Carrazzo also appears closer to a comeback for the Blues, named as an emergency for the first time since suffering a calf injury in round five.
Adelaide has also made just one change for the clash, dropping teenager Matt Crouch in favour of Jarryd Lyons.
The Western Bulldogs have rung the changes for their difficult trip to the Gold Coast, dropping Jason Johannisen and Lachie Hunter in addition to three forced outs.
Marcus Bontempelli, Brett Goodes, Jordan Roughead and Koby Stevens have all been named, alongside Clay Smith have all been named, who will play his first game for the Bulldogs in nearly a year after a knee reconstruction.
Liam Jones (suspension), Tom Williams (calf) and Tory Dickson (pectoral) are unavailable.
The Suns have recalled Tasmanian teenager Kade Kolodjashnij for Alex Sexton.
