We’ll miss Hannebery, Longmire says

Sydney AFL coach John Longmire says midfielder Dan Hannebery is effectively two players in one.

To say the 2013 All-Australian is going to be missed by the Swans during his month-long layoff with an ankle injury is an understatement.

“He’s a very good inside player,” Longmire told FoxFooty’s “AFL 360” program on Thursday night.

“He’s hard and clean inside so you can play him in the centre square and be confident that he’ll put his head over it.

“And then you can play him on the wing and half-forward and know he’s an elite runner.

“He’s one of our best runners at the club.

“It makes him a very good player and he’s a real competitor. So we’ll miss him.”
