The Tigers have drawn the short straw this week, flying straight to Perth on the back of last week’s nail-biting loss to St Kilda in Adelaide.

Richmond was the better team up until the main break, kicking four unanswered goals early on before taking their foot off the gas and leaving the door open for the Saints.

It was another learning curve for Adam Yze’s young and undermanned side, one they should look to improve on against a West Coast outfit that did show some signs of life last week.

To their credit, the Eagles actually led the Swans by five points at half-time last week, a purple patch of footy that was highlighted by Harley Reid’s first career goal.

Sydney’s class and talent shone through eventually, but it was at least encouraging to watch West Coast kick goals and attack the footy, rather than throwing men behind the ball.

I bet West Coast in Round 1 to cover a healthy line and was burned miserably, but with the Tigers playing on the road over back-to-back weeks, I think there’s some appeal about West Coast to at least put up a fight at home.
