The AFLW’s annual pride-game between the Bulldogs and Blues has fast become a highlight of the Women’s football season and this year’s edition is set to be a beauty.
Both teams came out of Round 1 with a defeat and will be keen to register their first win of the season on Friday night.
Carlton was held goalless for the first half of the season opener against Collingwood at Princes Park with the Magpies midfield catching out the Blues whenever they tried to get the ball inside their 50.
As always, 2020 Madi Prespakis starred with 18 disposals and five clearances but it was too little, too late.
Despite the late charge, the Blues went down by a goal.
For the Bulldogs, they’ll be frustrated with the wayward kicking which potentially cost them the game against the accurate Saints in a shoot-out.
Izzy Huntington and Bonnie Toogood are becoming quite the combination up forward and skipper Ellie Blackburn continues to impress.
The market has Carlton the favourites to win this match, but the Western Bulldogs are at overs ($2.85 at time of publish) to get the win at this one, especially with the game being played at Whitten Oval.
