UK boxer Chisora to be fined $US100,000

British boxer Dereck Chisora is to be fined $US100,000 ($A94,000) from a 500,000-dollar purse by the German professional boxing federation (BDB) over various incidents around last week’s world title bout with Vitali Klitschko.

Chisora was engaged in a brawl with former champion and compatriot David Haye in the early hours of Sunday at a news conference following a points defeat to Klitschko.

Chisora also slapped Klitschko at the pre-fight weigh-in and spat water at Klitschko’s brother, Wladimir, in the ring shortly before the fight.

BDB president Thomas Puetz said on Thursday the fine was for all three incidents. Half of the sum will stay with the BDB, the other half will go to charities supported by the World Boxing Council, which also has a final say on the BDB fine.

The BDB said it will decide on a possible ban for Chisora once the British boxing federation has made its ruling.

Chisora and Haye, who have apologised for the brawl, are both under investigation by German prosecutors for assault.
