Australia captain George Bailey admits he is at a loss when it comes to stopping Indian powerhouse Virat Kohli.

Kohli played his second match-winning knock of the seven-game series on Wednesday, smashing an unbeaten 115 off just 66 balls to bludgeon India past Australia’s target of 351 with three balls to spare.

It follows his breathtaking innings in Jaipur in game two, where his 52-ball century was the fastest ever compiled by an Indian batsman.

He has scored 344 runs in this series at the staggering average of 172.

On Wednesday Kohli was not concerned about who was bowling at him or the type of deliveries they were sending his way.

He simply counter-attacked and blitzed whoever fronted up to him, clubbing 18 fours and one six in the brutal display.

And Bailey admits Australia are struggling for answers.

“I’d like to find a way to get Virat Kohli out,” Bailey said after the loss.

“That’s probably my first thought (on the game).”

India skipper MS Dhoni simply marvelled at the ease at which his No.3 took the game away from Australia.

“Virat is very talented and very confident,” Dhoni said.

“He has grabbed the opportunity to bat at No.3 and keeps performing.

“He effortlessly won the game and made batting look so easy though the ball was reversing a bit.

“He is an outstanding player.”

Bailey felt the only way to slow the feisty 24-year-old was to enlist the help of the crowd.

He raised the issue of members of the crowd throwing objects into the outfield while Australia were fielding – and the distraction it caused – as one way to hinder Kohli’s explosiveness.

Play was momentarily halted during India’s run-chase as Bailey talked with umpires about debris which had been thrown onto the field.

“Maybe we need someone from the crowd to throw things at him like they do at our blokes,” he joked.

“That might be a good start.

“We’ve just got to get him out.

“Keep bowling good balls. We’ll find a way.”
