Australia will bat first in the opening match of their one-day series with India after George Bailey won the toss on Sunday.
Mitchell Johnson, Phil Hughes and Adam Voges have been drafted into the team for the first of the seven-match series, to be played in warm conditions and under cloudy skies at Pune.
Johnson returns after being rested from Thursday’s Twenty20 loss to India, and will have one eye on the Ashes this summer – knowing a dominant showing in the subcontinent will be view favourably by selectors.
Aaron Finch and Hughes will open the batting for the tourists.
Nathan Coulter-Nile has been named 12th man.
It is the first international one-day match to be played at Pune’s Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium.
A 5-2 series victory to Australia would wrest the No.1 ODI ranking off India.
