Australia bat v England in last ODI

Australian captain Michael Clarke won the toss and elected to bat in the fifth and deciding one-day international against England at Southampton on Monday.

With the series on the line at 1-1, Clarke was passed fit to play after a morning fitness test on his back.

Back issues kept the captain out of the Champions Trophy earlier this summer and have dogged him throughout his career.

Australia named Phillip Hughes in their line-up after Shaun Marsh suffered a hamstring injury in the fourth match in Cardiff on Saturday and spinner Fawed Ahmed was recalled in place of Nathan Coulter-Nile.

England gave an international debut to fast bowler Chris Jordan with the Sussex man coming in for Steven Finn who has a side strain.

Jonathan Trott was also a late withdrawal with his spot going to Luke Wright.

England levelled the series with their three wicket win in Cardiff, after Australia’s victory in Manchester. Games in Leeds and Birmingham were washed out by rain.

The day-night match will decide the series with Australia hoping to end their trip with a flourish after losing the Ashes series 3-0.
