Devastated fans of the England cricket team are bracing for more humiliation, with Australia clear-cut favourites with online bookmaker Sportingbet to win the ODI series commencing Sunday in Melbourne.

Australia has been backed into $1.40 favourites at Sportingbet to win the series. Those odds reflect a 69% probability of victory, according to punters. England is $3.00.
“The Barmy Army must have already packed up and gone home because the tourists are completely friendless in betting for the ODI series,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
After sweeping the Ashes series, Australia is at odds of $6 to repeat the whitewash and win the ODI series 5-0. The favourite option is for Australia to win 3-2 at odds of $3.
Australia has also firmed from $1.65 into $1.55 at Sportingbet to retain the Ashes in 2015 while England’s odds of regaining the Ashes have eased from $2.20 out to $2.40.
“The 5-0 Ashes victory will leave some major scars for England and while both teams will be different in 2015 it’s fair to say Australia has the better younger players,” Brown said.
