England win toss, bat v Australia A

England captain Alastair Cook has won the toss and elected to bat in the Ashes warm-up match against Australia A at Bellerive.

The tourists have named a near Test-strength line-up which includes Cook, batting star Kevin Pietersen and bowlers Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann.

Prolific run-getter Ian Bell has been left out, along with pacemen Steve Finn and Boyd Rankin.

Tall paceman Chris Tremlett has the chance to press his claims for the bowling spot up for grabs, while Gary Ballance will bat in the unsettled No.6 position.

Michael Carberry will open for England, with Joe Root moving down the order to No.5.

A dry pitch and an unseasonally warm 28 degrees will greet the sides in Hobart.
