England win toss, will bat at Gabba

England have won the toss and will bat first in the second one-day international against Australia in Brisbane.

The tourists, who won their first match since mid-November by beating a Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra on Tuesday, have picked the same team which lost the first one-dayer by six wickets in Melbourne last Sunday.

Australia have made two changes from that winning team with Shaun Marsh coming in at No.3 in place of injured all-rounder Shane Watson and spinner Xavier Doherty out for returning paceman Mitchell Johnson.

The Gabba pitch looks a top one for batting, with barely a hint of grass and a hard, dry appearance.

Morning showers have cleared with conditions now fine overhead and a top temperature of 30 degrees forecast.

The game begins at 1.20pm AEST (1420AEDT).

Australia: Aaron Finch, David Warner, Shaun Marsh, Michael Clarke (capt), George Bailey, Glenn Maxwell, Brad Haddin, James Faulkner, Mitchell Johnson, Clint McKay, Nathan Coulter-Nile.

England: Alastair Cook (capt), Ian Bell, Joe Root, Gary Ballance, Eoin Morgan, Ravi Bopara, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Tim Bresnan, Chris Jordan, Boyd Rankin.
